MPFL repair with Internal Brace for Patellar Dislocation

Recurrent patellar dislocation is a very common problem and traditionally MPFL reconstruction is done with the hamstring tendon, in this hamstring tendon is harvested and placed over the damaged MPFL. This causes morbidity of the donor site and also places an effectively dead tissue over the MPFL ligament which has to be protected during its period of recovery, healing and revascularization, this results in irritation, wound complications and muscle wasting.
